How to remove a dust spot from your photo

Use Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 to get rid of pesky dust spots

Sometimes a speck of dust can get stuck on your lens is so small that it isn’t noticeable when viewing your photos on your camera. It’s not until you get home and look at them on your computer that you notice a little splodge ruining the look of your fantastic shot. But don’t worry, thanks to Photoshop Elements, it is incredibly easy to solve this problem. Here is how you do it.

    1. How to remove a dust spot from your photo

      Open your image

      Go to File ⇾ Open and select your photo that has a dust spot.

      Spot Healing Brush tool

      Select the Spot Healing Brush tool from the tool bar on the left hand side of your screen.

      Adjust brush size

      Move the Brush Size slider to select the brush size you want. This will depend on the size of the dust spot.

      Remove the spot

      Drag the brush over the dust spot and then let Photoshop Elements do its magic.

    5. How to remove a dust spot from your photo

      Save you shot

      Once you have removed the dust spot, go to File ⇾ Save As and save you dust spot-free shot.
