Well yet another astounding competition, with hundreds and hundreds of entries of a vast range of subjects. This was one of the largest competitions to date, and it shows how great our readers can be at capturing stunning macro photos.
With so many good entries it’s a shame we can’t have more than one winner this week. Narrowing it down to a single shot has been difficult, but this week our chosen winner is Elise Mitchell with her shot of the ladybirds. The simple composition of this shot is complimented with the selective colouring, making thy ladybirds jump out of the screen. Competition Details
Close-up photography is an extremely interesting genre, as you can transform everyday objects like pencils into fascinating photos, as well as give us a close-up view of extremely beautiful things like flowers. Insects make for great macro shots, as we don’t often get to study these creatures in as much detail as we can from a fascinating macro. You can choose whatever subject you like, though, and often the weirder the subject, the more fascinating the final result can be – including lovely textures and fine details. Whatever subject you go for, we want to see your shots!
