This week we’re giving away a Lowepro Flipside 400AW camera bag! All you have to do is send in your best edited photos!
Results
Last week we asked for your best edited photos to give you the chance to win a Lowepro Flipside 400AW camera backpack. As with all of our competitions, we received a large number of entries. However, with such a good prize at stake, and a very open but simple topic, this competition received the most entries to date!
We received simple edits, basic tweaks, creative masterpieces and a huge selection of HDR images. Getting down to a useable shortlist was harder than ever this week, and choosing the final winner from this list was even harder. However, this week we have decided to award Karl Shepheard as our competition winner. Although this is in itself an excellent photo, it’s the very simple edit that gives it a striking colour, transforming the look of the scene completely, showing that less sometimes really can be more. Well done Karl, you’re prize will be with your shortly!

Now onto the shortlisters who deserve some recognition. This list was close to 100 photos at the first cut, and getting it down to these took some very hard decisions. In all we were hugely impressed with all of the entries, showing that PFB readers really are masters of the digital darkroom! So in no particular order, the runners up…

Competition Details
This week we’re keeping it general. With the harsh changing weather, it’s best not to start a competition that involves being outside too much! So with this in mind, this week we want you to dig out your old photos and get editing, shoot something indoors and get editing, or brave the weather and of course get editing!
Whether this is using your smartphone, a tablet, or just your computer. There are endless ways you can edit a shot, from simply converting it to black and white, selectively colouring a main subject or even applying a full blown HDR effect. Most of us even adjust the little details of a shot, from boosting the colours to cloning out anything that has crept into the frame.
So this week we want to see any and all of your edited shots, from full blown creative edits to basic adjustments. Simple tweaks to full overhauls, HDR images and even changing the colour of a dull sky.
If you’re having trouble with any of your edits, or need inspiration for what to try, check out our tutorial page for lots of great ideas.
This week we’re giving away one of our best prizes yet, a Lowepro Flipside 400 AW camera bag, worth over £100!
You can enter as many shots as you like for this competition. To enter, simply enter your shot into the form below, email us at pfbteam@imagine-publishing.co.uk or send us your shot using your favourite social networking site – just be sure to label your imahe ‘Edited Photo Competition’.

Hi
Do we need to send both before and after shots or just the final result?
Hi Mohammed. You only need to send the final result, but if you want to send the before shot too that’d be great!
I’m sending a number of entries. If I accidentally send one of them twice, will this count against me? I’m trying to put each entry into a specific file as I send it, but it’s a bit difficult to be absolutely precise about it. Also, what resolution is best. I had initially been sending them at 100dpi, then I sent some at 180 dpi and they seemed to be accepted fine. Please clarify this for me.
Thank you so much for your time and interest.
Patti – It won’t be counted against you if we receive double entries, easy mistake to make. We can also accept entries at any resolution you like, just make sure it’s large enough for us to view it big.
Based on the answer regarding resolution being high enough to be viewed at a large size, I have increased the resolution of my photos to 300ppi. The higher resolution files are labeled as such. Any new submissions will be at the higher resolution. I hope this doesn’t result in undue confusion, as I do enjoy participating in the competitions, as evidenced by the number of my submissions. Thank you for your consideration. Are the images projected for viewing by the judges?
How long does the comp run for?
Hi Christina, this competition closes later on today!
Well done Karl….
Stunning shot! Well done Karl.
